Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description:
The Senior Accountant, Chicago, is responsible for management reporting, and general accounting for the Chicago office. (S)He will be responsible for all financial and Sarbanes-Oxley audits of the Chicago office.

Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the monthly financial close; weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual internal reporting; purchasing and accounts payable; client billing and collections and accounts receivable; posting of journal entries; budgeting and bank account management.

The incumbent will be responsible for working with the company's external auditors on financial audits and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

This position requires the incumbent to work closely with the Chicago management team and Corporate Controller.

Candidate Characteristics:

  • The candidate must have strong accounting experience with a B.S. in accounting; knowledge of US GAAP and experience with month-end financial closes.

  • Public company experience and exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley strongly preferred. Candidate must have a good sense of accounting and business best practices, be process oriented, and very detail oriented.

  • Public accounting experience a plus.

  • Experience with Great Plains and or Peachtree preferred.

  • Comfortable working independently while also working in a matrixed management environment required.

  • Absolute discretion regarding salary issues, the company's financial results, and confidential company and employee information required.

  • Occasional travel required.
