Title: Quality Assurance Analyst - Full Time Employee

We are looking for a few qualified candidates who enjoy detailed quality assurance testing and light business analysis for electronic trading systems. GFT develops products focused on the FIX protocol and custom solutions for electronic trading.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Translates business requirements into technical quality assurance test cases.
  • Evaluates (and potentially create) system requirements, process flow and use cases.
  • Coordinates and facilitates user acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to decipher specific documentation (including use case diagrams and definitions, database models, screen mockups, data dictionary, etc.)
  • Creates, executes, and tracks test cases based on use case definitions.
  • Develops system and user acceptance test plans, test cases, regression tests, and ensuring the overall quality of the product.
  • Produces detailed release notes for business and IT distribution.
  • Utilizes proven quality assurance techniques, best practices, standards and trouble shooting methods.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies from the quality assurance technique or process viewpoint, and propose changes that may include process redesign and tool recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in CS, MIS, Computer Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • 2+ years experience of quality assurance testing required.
  • Experience developing test plans and test conditions.
  • Experience coordinating software testing efforts and communicating issues and status to management.
  • Experience in trading & financial services industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle, automated analysis and modeling tools desired
  • Experience working with FIX protocol (4.0, 4.1. 4.2, 4.3 or 4.4) is a major advantage
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Visio.
  • Experience with relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and DB2

  • Ability to effectively work with various customer management levels and end-users with varying technical abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment; to be flexible and learn quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task / prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in team environment.
  • Extremely thought and detail oriented.
  • Light programming skills in XML, SQL, Java, Visual Basic are a definite plus
