The Simulation Challenge

While this investment technology company uses the FIX Protocol on a limited basis, it needed to find a tool to act as a simulator in testing its FIX messages.

After viewing a demo of VeriFIX, the company's project manager was convinced that it was much better than any other product in the marketplace.

"It was a great product from day one," he says. "I asked for some added functionality and GFT delivered it to me almost right away." The company now uses VeriFIX in a very basic manner. "VeriFIX has a lot more power that we haven't even tapped into."

The Monitoring Challenge

At the time that the client was working with the VeriFIX product, they decided that they also had a need for FIX monitoring capabilities. Once again, after viewing a WebEx demo of MagniFIX, they believed that it offered a great deal of potential.

The MagniFIX Solution

At first, MagniFIX functioned as a log reader, parsing logs and displaying them in a manner that was easier for a human to read. "While that's great, someone still had to sit and watch the screen all day long. We needed monitoring capabilities," says the company's project manager. "That's an important consideration for a large organization with support personnel that need to make sure that FIX is up and running 24/7."

"We worked closely with GFT and they added monitoring functionality so that we can now monitor based on any time or criteria, not some predetermined criteria. We can get very granular about how we are alerted. And, of course, you can have alerts sent via e-mail or dropped into a log, even via paging."
